Collaboration, trust and respect were on display recently as Austen Maritime Services employees participated in a teambuilding retreat.

Employees from head office in Singapore joined employees from Stena Marine Management and Stena Line on the nearby Batam island for the overnight team development session.

Various teambuilding activities included sustainability-focused initiatives such as planting mangroves.

The event was concluded with a Hawaiian-themed dinner and entertainment.

Esther Ng, Projects Executive, Austen Maritime Services said: “The journey was filled with moments of camaraderie, exploration, and a deep connection with nature.

“Participating in the mangrove planting activity highlighted the importance of environmental conservation.

“It was a powerful reminder of the impact we can have on the planet through small but meaningful actions.

“These takeaways have enriched my perspective and will influence how I approach both personal and environmental challenges in the future.”

Vincent Lim, IT Lead, Austen Maritime Services, added: “Overall, the event exceeded my expectations, providing not only insightful content but also a dynamic environment for networking and team bonding.

“The most memorable moment is the teamwork on the pipe filling event where teamwork, communication and endurance are displayed.”
