Austen employees celebrate diversity and inclusivity

20th May 2024

Austen Maritime Services employees celebrated diversity and inclusivity on 18th May, the IMO International Day for Women in Maritime.

All head office employees were invited to gather, reflect, and discuss the themes of inclusivity and diversity as they were all gifted a symbolic and unique gift.

Christopher Cher, Global Head, Austen Maritime Services, told employees: “This year, as we celebrate the remarkable achievements of women in the maritime industry, we are extending our appreciation to every member of our diverse team.

“Regardless of gender, each of you plays an integral role in our collective success, and it's important to us that everyone feels valued and included.

“We’re proud that each of you has helped Stena to achieve an inclusive culture where care permeates everything we do, and we can harness the potential that diversity in the form of different perspectives, ideas, mindsets and background can bring to us.

“To commemorate this special day, we're delighted to present you with a unique gift: a blooming tea pack. These teas, as they bloom in hot water, symbolize the beauty that emerges from embracing change and nurturing progress. It's a small token of our collective journey towards success and unity.

“We want to also take this opportunity to express our gratitude to all of you for your hard work, dedication, and commitment to excellence.

“Your efforts drive our Company forward and inspire us all to reach greater heights together. As we continue to evolve and flourish as a team, let's embrace innovation and inclusivity every step of the way.”
