In China, operational hubs have been launched in Nantong just north of Shanghai, and Yantai on the shore of the Yellow Sea in the northeast of the country.
Both hubs will report to Austen’s Shanghai office.
Ship agency and project services in Indonesia have also been expanded, with the Company now offering support out of Batam, in the country’s northern Riau Islands.
Batam is located close to Singapore across the narrow Singapore Strait and has become increasingly popular for vessel dry dockings and Offshore fabrication.
Austen already has existing Indonesia hubs in Jakarta, Banjarmasin, and Merak.
As a result of the multi-location expansion, four new employees have been hired by Austen Maritime Services.
Philip Eriksson, Global Head, Austen Maritime Services, said: “While still in their infancy, these new strategically-located hubs in Batam, Nantong, and Yantai offer us the opportunity to better support our current and future clients.
“In China, having an official presence in both Jiangsu Province (Nantong) and Shandong Province (Yintai) allows us to be more agile and responsive when future clients require a service from those locations at short notice.
“The introduction of a service in Batam further strengthens our provision in the regions that surround our central hub of Singapore.”
The expansion of the Company’s global reach has followed two challenging years as a result of the pandemic.
Philip added: “The magnificent effort employees across all our agency hubs have made to ensure continuous service provision during extremely difficult circumstances is commendable.
“Our skilled and dedicated workforce is integral to our future growth, and we are now broadening our reach and providing a more expansive service offering.”
Austen Maritime Services provides a range of Ship Agency, Marine Project, and Personnel services to Vessel owners, Energy, and Offshore companies.
